The Cottage City Community Gardeners would like to thank everyone for their help at our 2016 Garden Season Opener! We shoveled through the rain and moved nearly one ton of soil! Through a generous donation and collaboration through the Port Towns Community Health Partnership and Prince George’s County Department of the Environment we were able to add two American Plum trees to our community orchard. We also were able to clean up our compost areas, weed our communal field, and get the garden in tip top shape!
Special thanks and kudos to Rev. Gail A. Addison, End Time Harvest Ministries Staff, Port Towns Youth Council, and PTYC Parents for their continued support and civic stewardship with the Cottage City Community Garden. Through their diligence, the Cottage City Community Garden became the first Community Garden in the Port Towns and continues to be a vital asset for providing fresh fruits and vegetables to our town residents.
The Cottage City Garden Team is very grateful for the support Cottage City Commission and the Cottage City Public Works Department! We can always count on you to help us keep our garden growing. Also, the motivational words from Commission Chair Nunez and Commissioner Givens got us fired up and ready to work!
