What does it take to make a luffa sponge?
Last year we were blessed with a healthy crop of luffas. This year they are growing along the back fence. So PLEASE DO NOT PICK THEM! We have to wait till they dry on the vines and then Denise/team will harvest them and process them into sponges.
The seeds were planted in April and we hope to harvest them this fall after the first hard frost.
Then they are picked – dried – peeled – bleached – seeds removed – cut them – packaged – use them!
