Late Summer is the perfect season for getting more fruit into your meal – and when you’re already outside cooking, it doesn’t get much easier than adding some to the grill.
Stone fruits are great for grilling because their thicker skin and flesh can hold up to heat well.
For a quick summer dessert try grilled plums with vanilla frozen yogurt (or ice cream) and a drizzle of agave syrup.
Can also use peaches, nectarines or apricots for the plums.
*Fresh plums, 1 per person
*Canola or vegetable oil, for grilling
*Pint of frozen yogurt – we went with vanilla bean or ice cream
*Drizzle of agave syrup
Heat your grill, keeping the temperature at a medium-high level. Brush grill grate and plums with oil. Cook face down until warm throughout and flesh has grill marks, about 3-5 minutes.
Add to a bowl with 1-2 scoops of frozen yogurt or ice cream.
Drizzle agave syrup over plums and ice cream, and garnish with fresh mint.
