Vegetables Ready for Picking!
The communal and individual beds have produced a lot of beautiful vegetables. Please continue to harvest from your beds and share in the communal areas. beds as soon as possible.
The Joy of Gardening
Much thanks to Jullianne Bethea, Master Gardener with the Prince George’s County Extension and Colmar Manor resident. Who taught a workshop on the Joy of Gardening last month!
Weeding in the Garden
Please remember that each gardener is responsible for keeping the weeds around their garden beds down. Weeds will spread and can adversely impact the soil in the garden.
Cottage City Day
We have been asked to staff a table at the Annual Cottage City Day. This is a great opportunity to serve in the community and to meet our neighbors.
KUDOS!
Thank you to Anne and Mark who have help planted to the tomatoes in the communal areas. Also, I was recently notified that the Cottage City Community Garden was awarded $700 from the Community Foundation thanks to a grant received from the Port Towns Community Health Partnership. That brings our total funds for the 2016-2017 fiscal year to $1700!
